Long-Term Nanny Care That Grows With Your Family

A long-term nanny becomes more than support — they become a trusted, consistent presence in your child’s life. At The Village Care Co, we thoughtfully match families with caregivers who bring stability, warmth, and peace of mind to everyday life.

Our Approach

We believe long-term care works best when it feels natural, supportive, and built on trust. A great nanny doesn’t just supervise children — they help create rhythm, consistency, and calm within the home.

Our approach focuses on thoughtful matching, clear expectations, and long-term success for both families and caregivers. When the right fit is found, a nanny becomes an extension of your family’s village, someone your children grow with and your household can truly rely on.

What Does a Long-Term Nanny Do?

Every family looks a little different, but long-term nannies typically provide consistent, attentive childcare while supporting the daily flow of family life. This may include:

• Age-appropriate play and developmental activities
• Maintaining routines and schedules
• School drop-offs and activity transportation
• Children’s meals and laundry
• Light household tasks related to the children
• Supporting emotional development and independence

As children grow, the role often grows with them — adapting to new routines, school schedules, and family needs over time.

Investing in Long-Term Support

A long-term nanny is a professional role built on consistency, trust, and mutual respect. When caregivers feel supported and valued, families experience greater stability, stronger relationships, and more consistent care for their children.

At The Village Care Co, we guide families using standards that help create successful, lasting placements. Long-term nanny positions typically include:

Guaranteed hours, providing consistency for both families and caregivers
Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays, allowing caregivers to rest and return fully present for your family
Competitive hourly pay aligned with current Pittsburgh-area market standards
Clear expectations and open communication, creating a healthy and respectful working relationship

These standards help ensure placements are sustainable and positive long-term — supporting both your caregiver and your family’s daily rhythm.
